Mastering the cleaning of a production line
POMEX’s work at a production site.
Cleaning that “works most of the time” is not enough when product quality depends on it.
Our client wanted reliable, reproducible cleaning results.

01. Context and challenges
The starting point:
- cleaning results that varied from one campaign to the next;
- hard-to-reach areas, including dead legs;
- poorly controlled use of water, detergent and time.
02. Our approach
POMEX reviewed cleaning equipment by equipment, using the four levers of Sinner’s circle:
- temperature, mechanical action, chemistry and time defined for each piece of equipment;
- parameters compensated where mechanical action is limited (dead legs);
- equipment geometry and surface finish taken into account;
- effectiveness checked before procedures were finalised.
03. Results
The approach delivered:
- clear, reproducible cleaning procedures;
- risk areas identified and addressed;
- less water, detergent and time used for the same level of cleanliness;
- a solid basis for cleaning validation.

Conclusion
Good cleaning means finding the right balance between four parameters, and proving it.
